Important Information

  • Appointment Reminders: We email a reminder at least 24 hours in advance of your appointment.

  • Cancellation/Attendance Fee: If you cancel within 24 hours, or we are unable to sweep due to access issues, hazards, or an unfit installation, a £45 attendance/cancellation fee applies.

  • Public Liability Insurance: We are fully insured with £5M Public Liability Insurance.

  • Chimney Sweeping Certificates Issued: Includes an assessment of your installation against current Building Regulations.

General Terms & Conditions

  • Payment: We accept Cheques. We do not accept card payments.

  • No VAT Charged: We are not subject to VAT.

  • Sweeping & Safety Notice: The Sweeping Certificate is a record of checks of your installation against current Building Regulations on the day of the sweep and provides recommendations if needed. However, it’s not a guarantee that your fireplace, heating appliance, boiler, flue, or chimney stack will stay safe in the future. A full inspection of accessible areas is required to assess the entire installation.

  • Faults & Repairs: Any faults found during sweeping will be reported to the customer and we will advise you on necessary repairs.
    Cleaning is an abrasive process, which requires our brushes to touch any cowl. Whilst we will be as careful as reasonably possible, we will not accept liability if the cowl comes off and it has not been securely fixed or the fixing has failed.

  • It is only possible to carry out a brief visual inspection of the installation and it is generally not possible to investigate any inaccessible or concealed areas, unless that service has been specifically booked.

Neat Sweeps will retain information for business purposes, such as HMRC inspections. The company operates a ‘privacy by default and design’ approach in all its working practices to ensure adherence to GDPR principles. We do not share information with anyone else unless we have consent—for example, passing details to another stove installer or chimney specialist.

The only exceptions to this are:

  • Issuing Warning Notices if an installation is declared unsafe.

A copy of Warning Notices are sent to our Trade Body for oversight and trend analysis.

The personal data we hold includes only what you would expect—your name, address, and contact details. Non-personal data relates to the installed appliance and any relevant maintenance information.

Our lawful basis for processing your data is Consent, Contract, and Legitimate Interest.
